New acne clinic at Maryville Surgery, Arklow

We have opened a new GP-led acne clinic at our practice in the Primary Care Health Centre, Castle Park, Arklow. The clinic is run by a GP with a special interest in dermatology, for patients with severe or persistent acne.

• Initial consultation (€150): a full assessment and treatment plan


• Baseline blood tests (€30): safety checks before treatment starts


• Monthly reviews (€75): progress checks, dose review and prescription renewal

A typical course of treatment lasts 5 to 6 months. Medication is paid for separately at your pharmacy. There is no waiting list.

Flu and Covid vaccine clinics now running in Arklow

Maryville Surgery’s flu vaccine clinics for the 2026/27 season have been running since 16 September 2026 at our GP practice in the Primary Care Health Centre, Castle Park, Arklow.

The flu vaccine is free for people aged 65 and over, pregnant women, people with long-term medical conditions and other eligible groups. Children aged 2 to 17 can get the free nasal flu vaccine. We also give the Covid-19 vaccine to eligible patients.

Free GP visits in Arklow: who qualifies for a GP Visit Card?

A GP Visit Card gives you free visits to your GP. It does not cover prescriptions or hospital costs. You automatically qualify if you are:

• a child under 8


• aged 70 or over


• getting Carer’s Allowance or Carer’s Benefit

Other adults and families may qualify through a means test. Since 2023, income limits have been raised so that many more people earning up to the median income are now eligible. If you pay privately to see a GP, it is worth checking.

Children under 8 who already have a Medical Card or GP Visit Card do not need to register again.

New schedule of fees from 1 October 2026

Our updated schedule of fees for private and GMS patients takes effect on 1 October 2026. A private GP consultation will be €70. GP consultations remain free for Medical Card and GP Visit Card holders.

Travel vaccinations and Yellow Fever vaccine in Arklow

Maryville Surgery is an official Yellow Fever vaccination centre, so you don’t need to travel to Dublin for your Yellow Fever vaccine and certificate. Our practice nurses also provide travel consultations and the full range of travel vaccines.

Book 6 to 8 weeks before you travel if you can, and fill in our travel health questionnaire before your appointment.

Minor surgery and joint injections in Arklow

We carry out a range of minor procedures here in the practice, so many patients don’t need a hospital referral. These include removal of skin lesions, cysts and lipomas, skin biopsies, ingrown toenail treatment, cryotherapy for warts and verrucas, and injections for knee, shoulder, tennis elbow and trigger finger problems.

All procedures start with an assessment appointment. Most are covered by, or can be claimed back from, the major health insurers.

You can order repeat prescriptions online at any time. Please allow 24 hours. Private patients will be sent a secure payment link from blnk.ws by text or WhatsApp.

We will never ask for your card details by phone, text or email.

Due to high demand, Maryville Surgery is not accepting new patients at the moment. We review our lists every three months. To join our waiting list, phone reception on 0402 39841.

If you have a Medical Card or GP Visit Card and cannot find a GP with space, your local HSE office can assign you to one.
